So I'm pretty sure after Breaking Dawn a lot of people have different opinions about Rosalie, so do you think that she was being selfish by endangering Bella's life for the baby? What are your opinions on this?

I agree with what Leah said when her and Jake talked about it, and how it's the type of thing where you don't appriciate being able to have kids until it's taken away from you - like it has been from Rose and Leah. And, that Rosalie is doing this because she really wished that if she were in Bellas place, she would want someone there to be on her side, and see it from her perspective. I'm pretty sure it said that Esme was on that side too, definately because Esme knew what it was like to lose a child, and to not be able to have them anymore. In the end, Leah, Rose, and Esme would have wanted to be able to do the same, to have the baby no matter what the cost.

So yea, opinions anyone?!

Oh good question Muffin!!

Yes, I actually always quite liked Rosalie. She said what she thought and is gutsy....making the best of a life she never wanted. The whole Bella pregnancy storyline bored me a little to be frank and I think Renesmee is just 'too much' for me..(that is another post!!)  I liked Rosalie's support of Bella ... I wonder if SM is a bit 'pro-life' in that respect and this issue reflects it. I also found it incredibly interesting that Bella turned to her at this time. It shows a lot about Rose's 'true nature'...that she would help and support her...because of the loss of her own 'future children' (this is something quite topical for me personally at present)

So yeah...I kinda knew it would all turn out okay...that 'bridges were being built' between two characters - one who had been previously unsupported by the other, and I think SM was maybe raising issue with young teen unplanned pregnancy ... maybe

*off to have rant about Renesmee now lol*

I agree with Antares...bridges needed to be built and I think that the bond was there and so Bella capitalized on the fact that she new Rosalie would do whatever it took. I like her. I understand that she is difficult because she dosent want to be in this life necessarily, but hello...she has Emmett!

I didn't have strong feelings against Rosalie before BD.  Maybe I was a little annoyed when she rushed to tell Edward Bella was dead in New Moon.

I definitely understood why Rosalie supported Bella's decision to keep her baby.  When Bella made the phone call from the island, I knew it would be to Rosalie.  Rosalie didn't want Bella to give up her mortality in great part because she wouldn't be able to have children, and that was the one thing Rosalie regretted the most.  She came off as not caring about Bella's health over the baby, but I don't think that was the case.  She knew Bella wanted to have the baby no matter what happened, and Rosalie was prepared to do whatever it took to make sure that happened.  If Bella had died, would Rosalie have been upset?  Maybe not as much as some of the others, but I don't think she would have been unaffected.  I don't think Rosalie did what she did because she figured Bella would die and then she would end up with the baby.  I don't think she was that callous.

I dont think that Rose was being selfish. At first I was like you dum-dum! do you KNOW what you are doing...but once I read more into it... I'm glad Rose stuck around and helped Bella. I think Bella knew that Rose would protect her choice, wether it ended up killing her or not.

I think this just shows not everyone is as "tough as they seem" they got a soft spot! Smiley

i dont think that it had anything to do with SM being pro-life she has said that when she develops a character they kind of take on a mind of their own..and well i just dont think that bella as a person would be one to get rid of a baby

Oh, and it also comes back to the fact that Bella has always been selfless, and put her family before herself (:

I've always had a problem with Rosalie. In Eclipse I was sorta sympathetic with her because of that story that she told Bella, but it all changed in Breaking Dawn. Rosalie is selfish and crazy. She didn't care if Bella died all she wanted was the monster killing Bella. I have to say that the only thing I liked about Jacob were the blond jokes that he told Rosalie and the fact that he hated her.

I disagree, I thought that she was the only one who was actually putting value to what Bella wanted, which was to keep the baby

I don't know, I thought that Rosalie was taking ADVANTAGE of what Bella wanted by hovering over her and helping her keep the baby. She only cared about what the baby needed...and as we all know Rosalie wanted a baby more than anything.

Edward acknowledges the fact that Rosalie does NOT care what happens to Bella, and he can read minds.

I really liked Rosalie until BD...

I'm not so sure she was endangering Bella's life...more like following her wishes. Sure she had ulterior motives, but in the end it was Bella choice to want this baby, and she used the instrument of Rosalie to protect herself.

One thing about Rosalie, you know where she stands...and she makes no bones about being something she isn't.

i think she was being selfish helping bella out but i think she also knew that in the end bella would become a vampire anyway, so her priority was keeping the baby alive.

I agree and I think somewhere deep inside of Rosalie, she knew that Bella was going to be changed just in time and everything would work out.
